A private open-air jeep tour, 3 to 8 hours

Around Aruba Tours gives your group its own open-air truck and guide for three to eight hours, picking stops from Arikok and the Natural Pool to the north coast ruins and beaches. Pick it for the freedom: you set the pace and stay longer where you like.

Private Open-Air Jeep Tour, 3 to 8 Hours

About this experience

This is the private version of Around Aruba Tours' Outback Safari. You choose a length from 3 to 8 hours, a guide picks you up in an off-road pickup with a canopy over the bench, and you plan the day together. Guests describe sitting down with the driver at the start and building the route around what they want to see.

The menu is long: Arikok and the Natural Pool, the Ayo rocks, Alto Vista Chapel, Andicuri Beach, the Natural Bridge site, the Bushiribana ruins, Blackstone Beach, the California Lighthouse, Philip's Animal Garden, Shark Bay, the Tripod Bridge and Wariruri Bay. In three hours you'll see a few of them. Six or more gives you the pool and the north coast without rushing. Bottled water, soft drinks, snorkel gear and a bandana are included.

Price and park fee. The listing starts at $212 per person, and the per-head price falls as your group gets bigger, so it makes most sense for families and groups. The itinerary marks Arikok admission as not included: plan on the official $22 per adult (under-17s free, per the Aruba Conservation Foundation) at the gate. The open-air ride is very bumpy, and the guide sits in the closed cab, so commentary comes at the stops. Weather can change the plan, and the pool closes for swimming when the waves come over.

  • Your own truck and guide, no strangers
  • Pick from 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 hours
  • You choose the stops and how long you stay
  • Soft drinks, water, snorkel gear and bandanas included

I rented a car and saw most of the west, east and south alone, but we needed a 4 wheel drive to see anything in the north and seeing how rocky it was I’m glad i didn’t attempt to traverse alone. [...]

We did the private jeep tour for our family of 6. Germaine picked us up right on time. We discussed what we wanted to see for the day and he made a plan. He was very informative and helped to plan a great day for us.

We are a family of 9 from kids to grandma and our tour operator Jack really listened to what we wanted and paced us quite nicely. He was a great guide and driver! Would recommend.

It is an open air jeep safari which is very bumpy, may not be suitable with people with back problems. The guide is enclosed and can’t tell you about the different sights until he stopped. It was a 5 hour trip. Quentin was very knowledgeable and didn’t rush us through the day.

Tips before you book

  • Choose 5 or 6 hours if you want both the Natural Pool and the north coast. Three hours is tight.
  • Bring cash for the park pass: $22 per adult, children under 17 free. The San Fuego visitor center is open 8:00 to 3:30.
  • Price your whole group before you book. The per-person rate drops as numbers rise.
  • Pack your own lunch or ask the guide where to stop. Food isn't included.
